Recovering deleted files on the RFS

RFS

If you accidentally delete data in your Research File System (RFS) space, you can request a restore for $15. To request a file recover, contact your campus Support Center, or visit one of the UITS Support Center walk-in locations. For more, see At IU, how do I recover files or email deleted from UITS central systems?

Additionally, the read-only 1day-backup directory in your RFS space lets you restore files deleted accidentally since the last system backup was performed (usually the previous night). However, deleted files will not be retained when the folder is backed up at the end of the twenty-four hour cycle. If you wish to restore files, copy them from the 1day-backup folder before the next system backup is performed.

SDA

Files you delete from your account on the Scholarly Data Archive (SDA) cannot be restored.
