How to control who is allowed to watch streaming videos on your web pages
You can make it difficult for unauthorized viewers to watch your videos, but the content will still be viewable to anyone who knows the direct link to the streaming server.
However, you can use standard web server techniques to control access to the web pages with the links to your streaming media. For more information about how to do this at Indiana University, see Controlling Web Page Access.

Note: UITS no longer supports the QuickTime and Real streaming servers. To stream audio and video files, you should instead use the Adobe Flash or Windows Media streaming servers; see Streaming audio and video over the web at IU. To convert QuickTime files to other formats, use Adobe Media Encoder, which is available in Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5 and CS5.5) from IUware.
