ARCHIVED: In Windows, how do I find the MAC address of my network adapter?

Windows 7 and Vista

In Windows 7 and Vista, to view the MAC address of your network adapter(s):

  1. From the Start menu search field, type cmd and press Enter.

  2. At the command prompt that appears, enter: ipconfig /all

    The MAC address is the six pairs of hexadecimal numbers in the field labeled "Physical Address".

Windows XP

Note: If this doesn't match what you see, refer to About navigation settings in Windows.

In Windows XP, to view the MAC address of your network adapter(s):

  1. From the Start menu, select Run....

  2. In the "Open:" field, enter cmd.

  3. At the command prompt that appears, enter: ipconfig /all

    The MAC address is the six pairs of hexadecimal numbers in the field labeled "Physical Address".
