Caller ID telephones

If you subscribe to caller ID, your phone will display the date and time automatically after you receive your first incoming call. After the beginning and end of Daylight Savings Time (DST), your phone will update when you receive your first call after the time change. If you do not subscribe, you must set the date and time manually; see below.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday in November in the US. For exact dates, see What are the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time in the US?

To set the date and time on a single-line phone:

  1. Press the Set Options key.

  2. Press the Review key to scroll up or down to the number 2, or press 0 and 2 to go directly to the item.

  3. Press * and follow the instructions on the display; then press RLS.

To set the date and time on a two-line phone:

  1. Press the Set Options key, and then press * to enter the options list.

  2. Press the arrow up/down key or 0, and then press 0 and follow the instructions on the display.

  3. Press RLS when finished.

Meridian Business Set M5300 series

The date and time feature of the Meridian 5300 series telephone (e.g., M5312, M5316) allows you to program the time and date that will appear on your display.

When DST begins and ends, you will need to reset the telephone to display the correct time.

To set the date and time:

  1. Press Program, and then press <<<| |>>> until "Time and Date Set?" is shown on the display.

  2. Press Hold, and then enter the date using the format shown on the display.

  3. Enter the time in 24-hour format.

  4. Press Hold to save the new date and time settings.

  5. Press Program or RLS to exit programming mode.

To select the date and time display format:

  1. Press Program, and then press <<<| |>>> until "Time and Date Format?" is shown on the display.

  2. Press Hold, and then press <<<| |>>> until the desired format is shown on the display.

  3. Press Hold to save the new format setting.

  4. Press Program or RLS to exit programming mode.
