Conference calls
At Indiana University, telephone conferences allow groups of people in different locations to hold discussions when time, travel, or budget constraints do not allow face-to-face meetings. For general and campus-specific information, including Call Center contact information or to schedule your conference call, visit IU Conference Call Services. The UITS Call Centers at IU Bloomington and IUPUI offer the following enhanced telephone conference capabilities to all faculty and staff at all IU campuses (with the exception noted below), 24 hours a day, 365 days a year:
-
Meet-me conference
Callers can participate from any location and do not have to wait for a conference operator to call. Long distance charges (if any) are the responsibility of each caller participating in the conference.
-
Meet-me 800 conference
A Meet-me 800 conference is identical to a Meet-me conference, except the department initiating the conference call incurs a $0.075 per minute charge per port for use of the 800 line.
-
Operator-assisted conference
A conference operator places the calls to each party. Any long distance charges are billed to a long distance authorization code provided by the requesting department.
-
SL 100 conference (IUPUI only)
Up to six parties can connect at a designated time by calling a predetermined number. Callers can participate from any location. When the first person calls into an SL 100 conference number, the phone will ring continually until the second person joins the conference.
