Answer mode (IUB two-line telephones)

At Indiana University, when both lines are ringing on a two-line Caller ID telephone (Meridian/Nortel 9316 or 9417), by default you will answer the line that was ringing first when you pick up the handset. You can change this by setting the answer mode:

  1. Press the Set Options key, and then press # to enter the setup list.

  2. Press the arrow up/down key to scroll to number 4, or just press 4 to change the answer mode.

  3. Press # to choose the prime line, or press * to answer the longest ringing line. Press RLS.
