At IU, how can I view my degree progress or create a "what-if" report based on possible course scenarios?

If you are an Indiana University student, you can both review degree progress based on courses you have completed and run "what-if" analyses based on possible course plans. To view your degree progress:

  1. Log into OneStart. The "Student Center" area should be visible; if it is not, select the Services tab, and choose the Student Self-Service section on the left.

    Click Go to Student Center.

Note: The Student Center and other Self-Service applications use pop-up pages and subpages. If your Internet pop-up blocker is set to block all pop-ups, you'll need to turn it off or change the setting to allow these pop-ups; see For Windows web browsers, how do I enable or disable pop-ups? For further assistance, contact your local Support Center.

  2. Under "Academics", click My Academics & Grades.

  3. Under "Advising", click View my advisement report.

From here, you have three options for viewing your degree progress. For all three, use the drop-down menus to select your campus or program and the type of report (e.g., with or without transcript) you want to generate:

    • Advisement Report: This will show how your courses and credits apply to the requirements of your major. After you have made your selections from the drop-down menus, click go to generate the report.
    • Quick What-If: This will report the progress your courses and credits would represent for a different campus or major. To use this feature, make your selections from the drop-down menus and then click Quick What-If. Follow the directions on the next page to generate the report.
    • Course List What-If: This will report how one or more specific courses apply toward your degree requirements. To use this feature, make your selections from the drop-down menus and then click Course List What-If. Follow the directions on the next page to generate the report.
