Introduction to Oncourse

Oncourse Collaboration and Learning (Oncourse) provides Indiana University students, faculty, and staff with a widely used environment in which to collaborate and learn. In partnership with other academic institutions as part of Sakai, IU developed Oncourse to allow for innovative ways of accessing and sharing materials and information.

Oncourse offers a straightforward way to create a web site for every course offered at the university. Using Oncourse, students and faculty can access course syllabi and grades; communicate via course mail, chat rooms, and discussion forums; and access online quizzes and surveys. Oncourse also provides individuals 1 GB of file storage space.

Access Oncourse at:

https://oncourse.iu.edu/

Faculty and staff can familiarize themselves with the application by requesting a practice course site, which contains the same tools as an official course site. Students, faculty, and staff can use the tools available in Oncourse by requesting a project site. See Request a site.

You can also learn about Oncourse from Knowledge Base documents (see the Oncourse menu), by clicking Help within Oncourse, and from other training and support resources.
