Project: Pre-Disbursement Processor system (PDP)

Primary UITS contact: Jim Julovich

Last update: March 24, 2009

Description: The Pre-Disbursement Processor (PDP) system is a J2EE web-based application that processes payment files from various systems throughout the university to prepare those payments for final disbursement processing. PDP includes functionality for grouping payments to the same vendor, determining whether payments will be disbursed via check or ACH, and generating the required general ledger entries.

The current version of PDP was rewritten to adhere to Kuali development standards as part of the Kuali Financial System (KFS) project. This module was made available as a part of KFS Release 2.0 on November 13, 2007.

Outcome: PDP is an established and stable system with no major releases scheduled in the near future. The new Kuali-based version of PDP will be implemented when IU implements the Kuali Financial System (KFS), starting in summer 2009 and continuing through calendar year 2010.

The new system adheres to standard J2EE web-based technologies and architecture supported within UITS.

Milestones and status:

  • Implemented in late 2004
  • Processes payment files from EPIC, SIS, Travel, Library systems, and several non-enterprise applications from areas such as campus bookstores, Athletics, and Psychology
