About IU Secure
Note: During the summer of 2014, an upgrade to IU Secure will prevent many devices from connecting to IU Secure. To maintain uninterrupted connectivity, see How do I prepare my computing device for the new IU Secure wireless certificate?
IU Secure is the wireless network for students, faculty, staff, and affiliates to access on all Indiana University campuses (except Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne). IU Secure uses WPA2 Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) for authentication and encryption.
For details about connecting to IU Secure, see the appropriate document for your operating system or device:
- Android OS 2.0 and later
- BlackBerry phones
- BlackBerry PlayBook
- iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
- Mac OS X
- Windows 8.x, 7, Vista, and XP
- Windows Phone 8 and 7
Note: To gain full Internet access for your device on the IU Secure network, you must register the device's MAC address. Before registering your MAC address, your device will be able to connect to IU Secure, but will not receive an IP address that allows a successful Internet connection. For more, see Registering your computer or networked device on the IU network
