Description: The HUBzero Consortium is a multi-institutional collaboration to develop and deploy virtual organization research web portals based on the HUB technologies developed at Purdue University. You can visit the HUBzero web site at:
http://hubzero.org/Currently, IU and Purdue are the member institutions. HUBs represent a Web 2.0 approach to research collaboration, education, and research program implementation, as well as access to national supercomputing and other IT resources. It is notably deployed as Purdue's NanoHUB and IU School of Medicine's Indiana CTSI HUB.
Outcome:
- Development of a distributable source code
- Development of new HUBs at IU for other research communities
- Development of new HUB components and services that will be contributed back to the HUBzero consortium
- Development of consortium governance and strategic plans
Milestones and status:
- Initial development of Indiana CTSI HUB Completed September 2007
- HUBzero Consortium founded by Purdue and IU Completed February 2009
- IU pioneers Federated Identity management for Indiana CTSI HUB Completed March 2009
- Initial HUBzero workshops at IU Completed April 2009
