About IU Mobile Web

IU Mobile Web at https://m.iu.edu/ is a mobile portal service for the Indiana University community, designed for smartphones and other mobile devices; see Recommended devices below.

From IU Mobile, you can access a wide range of services. Many are publicly available, while others have features requiring authentication.

  • Oncourse: With Mobile CAS authentication, Oncourse Mobile displays the number of new messages, forum posts, and announcements for each of your classes or workspaces. You can read the messages from your mobile device; future versions will expand these functions to include other Oncourse CL tools.

  • Classifieds: Classified ads from OneStart.

  • Bus Schedules: The first version of this service provides static pages of the IU bus and Bloomington Transit schedules; future versions will feature both schedules for other IU campuses, and dynamically updated real-time schedule information.

  • STC Availability: Displays real-time ratio of open computers to total available in each IUB lab. Information for other campuses is planned.

  • People: The mobile version of http://people.iu.edu/ (IU Address Book allows you to search for contact information for IU students, faculty, and staff. On many smartphones, click-to-call and click-to-email are available to authenticated users.

  • Events: An RSS parser lists events from OneStart's My Calendar, and can be further configured to display any number of feeds provided by IU. When authenticated, you see events occurring on your primary campus by default; you can also choose to view events for other campuses.

  • IT Notices: Displays IT Notices from UITS, as well as contact information for reporting problems; see At IU, what are my options for accessing IT Notices?

  • News: An RSS parser lists items from the IU News Room. Future versions will allow you to select other feeds provided by IU.

  • Campus Alerts: An indicator redirects you to the Emergency Information Module; see About emergency notifications at Indiana University. Alerts you receive are controlled by your campus status administration in OneStart; see For IU emergency notifications, how do I update my contact information? If you use an iPhone or BlackBerry, any campus alert issued will display an icon on your home page.

  • Search IU: This search tool powered by Boopsie lets you search IU libraries and the Knowledge Base; you can also search Wikipedia.

  • Emergency Contacts: Provides phone numbers for police, medical, and other emergency services on each campus. When authenticated, you will see your home campus information by default, but can choose to view other campus contacts as well.

  • Feedback: A simple way to request new IU Mobile services or to provide feedback to the developers. UITS encourages you to help improve the service by offering your suggestions and comments.

  • Login: UITS uses Mobile CAS to provide authentication for secure IU services, including Oncourse Mobile. In addition, logging in provides you with customized content for your home campus, such as news, maps, and events. See At IU, what is Mobile CAS?
