Today marks the half way point in that bet, and a lot has happened in that time. In the last year Bitcoin prices dropped from $10 to $2, and have been steadily climbing ever since to the $11.10 they are currently. Real venture capital has started flowing into Bitcoin businesses, including: and a number of other projects that have not been publicly released yet. We have also witnessed the creation of an alternative, non-governmentaly regulated stock market based on Bitcoins. It currently has nearly 200 businesses listed and millions of dollars worth of Bitcoins have been traded. We have seen new Bitcoin currency exchange businesses starting around the world with new ones coming online nearly every week. A year ago it was only a dream, but today, anyone in the USA, Brazil or Russia can walk into a local shop, and deposit cash at over 700,000 location including Walmarts, 7-11, CVS and major banks, and have Bitcoins almost instantly. This service will soon be available in about 180 countries around the world! Thanks to great new services such as and 's "My Wallet" You can now send Bitcoins directly to your friends on facebook, or to anyone's email address or cellphone number around the world. We've seen the emergence of Bitcoin into tradional style gambling sites such as and We have also seen the creation of an entirely new form of Bitcoin based gambling with sites like Today, the vast majority of the world still hasn't heard about Bitcoin, but enough people have, that it will continue to grow rapidly from this point. I'm confident that Bitcoin is the most important invention in the history of human kind since the Internet itself. Just as in 1990, most people didn't know what was coming with the internet, but by 2,000 it was an integral part of our lives, the same will be true with Bitcoin.
