Gox CEO Mark Karpeles: 'I Am Still In Japan' Mark Karpeles, the chief executive of troubled Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox, has sought to calm market concerns by insisting he remains in Japan, where the company is based. Karpeles says he is working hard with technical teams to solve a major security issue, which forced an operational shutdown at the company.
