Students of mechanical engineering in 2nd semester at ETH Zurich traditionally have a project/competition to develop a robot to perform a special task. This year the challenge was to create an autonomous mechanical system that fits into a fictive submarine and is able to collect treasures with different shapes and securely store it at the depot. We decided to build an extendable arm with a front section that can reach down and grab the items. The system was driven by two stepper motors, one DC motor and two servos. Controlled by a PS3 and an X-Box controller this setup was pretty unique. Thanks to its great movement speed, flexibility and precise controlling we were able to win the competition and mark our spot against 89 other great teams. Thanks to all who made this project possible; especially to PDZ at ETH Zurich. Thanks to all teams giving us a hard competition and congratulations to team 18b and 22c for 2nd and 3rd winner! If you have questions about the project, the conditions or mechanical issues feel free to leave a comment! #blast crypto #welche crypto wallet
