By comparing market cap, liquidity, global brand recognition, Lightning Network liquidity and number of channels, and other factors, I conclude that Litecoin has been unsuccessful at catching up to Bitcoin. Even if Litecoin turns out to be a commodity under US law, it doesn't mean that it will be a good investment going forward. Manure is also a commodity.
