Mosaic Faculty Fellow Program Details

In support of their work, Mosaic Faculty Fellows receive:

  • A stipend paid into your research account for conference travel, research support, and other fellowship-related needs.
  • Program Certificate & Digital Badge.  Successfully completing the program earns fellows a Mosaic Certificate and digital badge.
  • Personalized support from Mosaic staff, Classroom Technology Services, IU Learning Spaces, Learning Technologies, and other units as needed.
  • Priority scheduling in an active learning classroom on your campus within the following year (dependent upon classroom availability in accordance with the Registrar’s Office).
  • Access to a faculty community exploring and investing in active learning approaches, both immediately through the Fellows Program and long-term through the larger community of Mosaic Senior Fellows.

The Mosaic Active Learning Faculty Fellows program is open to all faculty from any Indiana University campus. (Because many adjunct faculty do not have research accounts, we may need to find other mechanisms to provide support in lieu of the stipend available to those with research accounts.) Those unsure of their eligibility are encouraged to contact mosaic@iu.edu to discuss opportunities to be involved in the Mosaic Active Learning Initiative.

To successfully complete the program, Fellows must:
  • Participate in the Mosaic Institute, a full day, in-person event bringing together IU stakeholders around central facets of active learning and its alignment with the Student Success pillar of the IU Strategic Plan. (see "25-26 Cohort Schedule")
  • Participate in six required Fellows sessions. Some sessions will be in-person while others will be virtual. (see "25-26 Cohort Schedule")
  • Participate in up to two optional Fellows sessions as desired. These optional sessions will all be virtual. (see "25-26 Cohort Schedule")
  • Commit to integrating active learning practices into the curriculum.
  • Gather data to show the impact of implementing active learning pedagogies on a key metric and present those findings.
  • Produce a professional learning artifact (i.e., a written statement reflecting on involvement in the program as it relates to professional development).
