The Mosaic Active Learning Initiative has four goals: preparing faculty to teach in active learning environments, building a community, promoting evidence-based teaching, and creating faculty leaders. Mosaic Active Learning Faculty Fellows go on to mentor colleagues and work with stakeholders to help develop new learning experiences at IU.

Learning Technologies Faculty Fellow Programs and the Mosaic Active Learning Initiative partnered with the IU Bloomington School of Education to offer the spring 2025 Mosaic Active Learning Initiative Faculty Fellow program. The faculty selected for this cohort participated in the a pilot of the Mosaic Learning Communities Cohort concept. The vision for the pilot includes building active learning communities within schools/departments that can help grow the impact of the Fellows learning beyond their own classrooms.
Mosaic Faculty Fellow Stewards
The Mosaic Faculty Fellow Stewards are esteemed members who have successfully completed the Mosaic Faculty Fellows program. As "stewards," they embody and perpetuate the core mission of the Mosaic Initiative: to foster and support active learning across Indiana University's learning environments. They carry forward the program's values, continuing to champion innovative pedagogical approaches and inspire active student engagement in various learning contexts.
