Students on laptops with instructor observing in IUPUI classroom

Current pilots

Join us as we continue to find out what’s next at IU in teaching and learning. Here are the pilots we are currently engaged in.
  • A11y integrates into Canvas and helps instructors ensure their content is more accessible for all students by generating alternative formats and providing tips to improve Canvas course accessibility.

  • Terracotta supports rigorous and responsible experimental research on teaching and learning. Set up different variations of the same Canvas assignment, and compare student learning outcomes.

  • Student-facing dashboard tool that displays files accessed, assignment activity, and grade distribution to help students regulate their learning.

Our process

  • Identification

Determine open-source and vendor-provided products for piloting.
  • Exploration

Engage faculty about pilot participation; work with them to conduct pilots and assess outcomes.
  • Evaluation

Determine software options based on faculty and student feedback.
  • Adoption

Make selections based on evaluation reports and input from learning technology strategy teams.
