University Information Technology Services (UITS) works to develop and maintain a rich information-technology environment for Indiana University in support of IU’s vision for excellence in research, teaching, outreach, and lifelong learning.

Powering a world-class university

With more than 1,500 full-time employees, UITS provides services and support for the modern, multifaceted technology environment at IU and works with more than 10,000 constituents in the IU multi-campus university system with locations across the state and the world.

UITS is committed to information security, ongoing exploration of new tools and technologies, and delivering the services and support our constituents need at IU and beyond.

Our People

Technology is our hallmark, but it’s the energy and expertise of the many people who work for UITS that powers our division.

UITS reports to the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT), which drives the continued development of information technology at IU. Rob Lowden is vice president for information technology and chief information officer (CIO).
